Notes/trivia

Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches

  • The Daily Babbler is misspelled frequently making one believe that there may have been some confusion of the spelling/pronunciation for the animators.
    • As the gang follow the tire track to the Daily Blabber both signs outside read "Daily Babble" and the sign at the top of the building still shows this while the camera is on the outside while Scooby messes with the elevator.
    • When the gang race into the entrance the sign says "Daily Babber" which is kept in the flashback.

Inconstitencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities

  • Shaggy has to pay for the services of his friends, while in Horror of the Haunted Hairpiece, it was Shaggy (& Scooby) himself who was appalled at the idea of charging Daphne.
  • Shaggy says that Scooby had two Scooby Snacks even though he only took one from Daphne.
  • When the Ghost is lunging towards the gang in the room full of counterfeit money, he makes the same growl as Red Herring did when disguised as a swamp monster earlier on in the episode, even though Red and the Ghost both have different voice actors, and the Ghost was not actually Red (naturally.)

Quotes

Shaggy: (narration) Like, this is the city. Coolsville, USA. Every day at dawn the Daily Babbler newspaper truck pulls up to my house. And Mr. Conrad tosses out a big pile of newspapers. You see, I have a paper route to deliver, so I always wake up early.
Shaggy: (snoring)
Shaggy: (narration) Well, almost always. And whenever I oversleep I get my own personal alarm clock: A pup named Scooby-Doo.

Shaggy: (narration) So, I got my bike back as good as new. We got our pictures in the paper, and...
Shaggy: ...Like, I'm looking for a new part-time job.
Daphne: And we hope you get one, too.
Freddie: 'Cause you'll need the money to pay our fee for finding your bike.
Daphne: Ten cents a day, plus a price of all the goodies we can eat.
Shaggy: Well, that seems fair. What's the total?
Velma: (rings up the price on a bill machine and hands it over to Shaggy)
Shaggy: (looks it over in shock) Twenty-five bucks?! But... Alright, who's been pigging out?
Scooby: (laughter)
Shaggy: (turns to see Scooby with an extravagant banana split ice cream)
Scooby: Scooby-Dooby-Doo! (licks at the ice cream on his spoon)
