Al owned a skateboarding park at Coolsville Beach.

Physical appearance

Al is a tall, physically fit Caucasian male. He has blond hair, and sun-tanned skin.

Personality

When Scooby-Doo and the gang first met Al, he appeared to be soft-spoken and friendly, but also melancholy. He also had a dark secret; true nature was uncovered when it was revealed that he was still using drugs, and smuggling them. Al was also deceptive; using his sad story to throw himself off suspicion.

History

Early life

He used to be an international skateboard champion, but soon got addicted to illegal drugs. Al was sent to prison for possession of drugs and stripped of his championship status. When he got out of prison, he took what little money he had left and opened his park.

He dressed up as the Headless Skateboarder to scare people away. This was so no one would see the dolphins he and his accomplice Sandy Sneakers had stolen to smuggle in their illegal drugs. It was unknown if Al was using the drugs for his personal consumption, or if Sandy was making money from selling the drugs. However, given that it did not make much sense for Al to be scaring away his own customers, it is most likely that he was making more money selling drugs than he could from the profits of his skate park. They also tried to make it look like Red Herring was the monster as one of his pranks. They were taken into custody by Gnarly Charlie, who was an undercover FBI agent investigating the drug smuggling operation.

Al is notable for being the first drug user in the franchise, although he is not actually seen using any controlled substance on screen.
