Alfredo Acala was a Filipino comic book artist and writer. His work Alcala led to the Alcala Komix Magazine in the Phillippines, and also created Voltar. He moved to the United States, where he worked for DC Comics, as an inker, on Batman and Detective Comics.

Alfredo died of cancer in 2000, at the age of 74.
