He was supposedly helping them run their ghost town but actually involved, along with Rhino, in smuggling uranium. He operated Tyrone, the mechanical tyrannosaurus. He also disguised himself as the Robot Gunslinger. The loud noises they made covered the blasting of uranium from the mine.
