Be Quiet, Scooby-Doo! is the seventh episode of season 1 of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!

Premise[]

Velma wants to study the wonders of the Crystal Canopy, but must remain quiet to prevent the crystals from falling. She gets so enthralled by them, she takes on the role of the Crystal Crawler.

Synopsis[]

At a tourist attraction called the Crystal Canopy Tour Company, some scientists are doing experiments with the crystals in the underground cave. During their experiments they stay incredibly quiet because the crystals are extremely sensitive to sound. After they finish the scientists have an argument about whispering. After one of them leaves the second scientist notices a strange creature on one of the crystals which attacks him.

The gang is on the road where they have an argument about "left and right" and "wrong and right". This makes Fred frustrated because all he wants is peace and quiet. They then arrive at the Crystal Canopy Tour Company and enter the gift shop. The gang take a look around and Daphne points out that she heard that crystals can increase psychic brain power and becomes interested in wanting to know what people think about. The gang is amazed by the Crystal Canopy with Velma explaining how her old professor, Dr. Lang, has been researching the place for months. The Crystal Canopy, which was discovered a couple of years ago. is an interconnected crystalline lattice formed by mineral drips over the past 3 million years. She also states how the crystals are extremely sensitive to sound as the sound makes them glow and if someone was to make a very loud noise it would cause the entire canopy to shatter into pieces.

Suddenly a man comes to the desk and introduces himself as Colson McCready the man who discovered the Crystal Canopy and started the tour company. He explains how no one was coming to visit, but then Dr. Lang arrives and explains how the crystals were too fragile and perfect to be studied anymore. But now her research assistants were chased off by some sort of cave creature. McCready says that it's the Crystal Crawler and that it's just stories people tell. Dr. Lang states that it's a good reason to shut the caves down permanently, but Velma protests Saying that the caves should be studied and volunteers the Gang to go down to finish Dr. Lang's research. Fred states that they can also investigate the Crystal Crawler. Daphne then tries to use a crystal to see if Dr. Lang can read her mind.

The Gang then buys tickets then goes down to the Crystal Canopy. As they go down Velma warns the gang to be quiet while in the caves so they don't disturb the crystals. The gang then has another arguments about "left and right" and "wrong and right". Fred gets frustrated again and tells the gang to be quiet so he can solve the mystery himself. They arrive at the canopy and are amazed at the beauty of the crystals, then head down the path while being watched by the Crystal Crawler.

Fred tries to speak to the gang with hand signals but they keep misinterpreting them, while Daphne tries to talk to Fred with her mind. Velma then admires the beauty of the crystals, Shaggy freaks out about it being quiet and Scooby sees the Crystal Crawler. The Crystal Crawler then chases the Gang all around the canopy. Shaggy and Scooby then trick the Crystal Crawler into thinking that they're its wife and baby. Shaggy then changes Scooby's diaper and asks the Crystal Crawler to take it out. But as it does it realizes the trick and rushes back only to find Shaggy and Scooby gone. They then meet up with the rest of the Gang. Fred tries to get Scooby to follow the Crystal Crawler's trail but but Shaggy and Scooby can't understand him. Meanwhile, Velma stares in wonder at the crystals while Daphne tries to read Velma's mind. Velma then wonders away from the gang.

Fred then sniffs out a clue on Scooby's back, a hand print left by the Crystal Crawler. Meanwhile, Velma continues to stare at the crystals and decides to protect them. As the gang searches for Velma they find some science equipment left by the researcher. Scooby then finds a broken piece of sonar equipment which Fred states is a clue. The equipment then gets a reading and the Gang discovers it's coming from a shadowy figure which they think is the Crystal Crawler. They run away but after getting cornered they realize that it's actually Velma trying the scare the gang away as the Crystal Crawler. As Velma tries to climb the crystal she keeps slipping off and falling down. Then the real Crystal Crawler arrives.

After being chased, the Gang manages to escape back to the elevator. In the elevator the gang can finally speak and argue about everything they have been doing until Fred tells them to stop. He puts together the pieces of the mystery as they return to the surface. Shaggy prepares to leave but Fred closes the door and sends them back down to the canopy. Fred says he has a plan to catch the Crawler and that he needs 5 seconds to teach the gang hand signals. Once at the research equipment the Gang prepares the trap with Shaggy and Scooby dressed like scientists. The Crystal Crawler then appears and is about to grab Scooby but Shaggy makes the crystals rattle. As Daphne and Velma try to push the counter weight for the net, Shaggy and Scooby get chased by the Crystal Crawler until they unexpectedly catch it.

Back on the surface the Crystal Crawler is arrested and unmasked as Colson McCready. He had sunk all his money in the Crystal Canopy Tour Company and Dr. Lang was trying to shut down the caves for good. Fred started to get suspicious when they found the sabotaged sonar equipment, because it didn't make sense why a monster would try to destroy it. But it made even less sense for a scientist to do it. This meant that whoever did it clearly didn't want the scientists to finish their experiments. But the first clue that pointed to McCready was the powder from the hand print on Scooby's back. The gang had realized the powder was left by the crawler but none of them knew what it was until they saw how slippery the cave walls were. Everything came together when Velma started slipping off the rocks - only an experienced caver would be able to climb them because Velma kept falling down. And since McCready was the one who found the canopy in the first place he had plenty of experience climbing rocks. McCready also knew that in order to keep his hands dry so he could grip the rocks he had to use chalk powder, thus being caught white handed.

As Velma declares the mystery over she shuts the door to the gift shop which was so loud it causes all the crystals in the canopy to break. This causes Colson to cry, Dr. Lang to faint, and Scooby to awkwardly say "Scooby Dooby Doo".
