Suspects

Suspect Motive/reason
Mr. Hollander Velma found papers tucked away in an old book that were a will and legal documents about the mansion, which proved that he had something to hide.
Roland He calimed that he saw the swamp monster with his own eyes and that he knew just what it looked like.
Groundskeeper He was the only employee still brave enough to still work for Mr. Hollander, and he claimed to have seen plenty of strange things in the swamp for the sixty years that he was there.
Mr. Hollander's "crazy" brother Back when he and his brother were young, he used to believe that there was a monster living in the swamp and according to the gardener, he had a wild imagination and would make up crazy stories.

Culprits

Culprit Motive/reason
Mr. Hollander as the Swamp monster He was trying to scare people away from the swamp, because, according to the legal papers that Velma found, that was where his treasure was hidden and he didn't want anyone else to find it first. That treasure was his mother's second mansion, submerged by a flood!
