Mr. Wickles

Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo found a mysterious black knight belonging to a Professor Hyde White that was nowhere to be found. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby returned the black knight to the museum. When there, they discovered that Hyde White had no longer left the Knight, but was missing, and the knight had come to life. Mystery Inc. managed to trap the Black Knight and revealed that it was Mr. Wickles.

Appearances

Other versions

Comic books

He appears in the first issue of Scooby Doo... Where Are You! by Gold Key Comics in a story called What A Night For A Knight. It's basically the same story as the episode of the same name.

A different Black Knight appears in The Blackest Knight by DC Comics as part of an overall parody of the Green Lantern Blackest Night storyline. The culprit here was a man named Sir John.

Scooby-Doo! Classic Creep Capers

In the Nintendo 64 version, there are five chapters with a different boss for each one. The Black Knight is the first level's boss. He's different from the regular version becuse he's got blue plumage instead of red and his armor is a little bit different. To beat him, you have to drop the sandbag on his head. His identity is Mr. Wickles, same thing as the TV show.

Scooby-Doo! Phantom of the Knight

In this PC game, the identity of the Black Knight varies from game to game. He is haunting the tourist castle Joust for Fun and has kidnapped the woman who plays the princess, Bernice.

Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights

The Black Knight appeared as a boss villain on the rooftops of Mystic Manor. He is the first boss Scooby encounters and is holding Velma captive. Where Scooby would use the Football Helmet or Lightning Bolt power-ups on most villains these do not affect bosses. Although the Black Knight does not directly attack Scooby, he throws axes. Scooby can defeat him by charging at areas that send lightning bolts onto the Knight several times. The Black Knight must be standing behind the areas in order for the lightning to hit him. The Black Knight also has a witch on hand to aid him with his battle.

Scooby-Doo! Unmasked

The Black Knight appears as a minor villain in the Museum levels of the game.

Notes/trivia

  • The Black Knight was the first monster in Scooby history, appearing in the very first episode of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, What A Night For A Knight.
  • In a crossover with Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the costume is seen along with those of other classic Scooby-Doo villains.
