Dance of the Undead is the eighteenth episode of the second season of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, and the forty-fourth episode overall in the series.

Premise

A ska group named Rude Boy and the Ska-Tastics return to life to turn people into zombies and make them dance forever!

Synopsis

the mystery incorporated gang investigate grooves from the grave after scooby and shaggy see rude boy and the ska-tastics attack Krissy Kristy and Ian hope on TV later the tiki tub is attacked by rude boy and the ska-tastics turning everyone into ska zombies. mayor nettles calls the gang to the hospital whilst the rest of the gang find out the problem scooby goes to visit nova who was critically injured in the previous episode the gang go to the cemetery to try and find clues to who is behind the attack and find Ian but are attacked by rude boy and his gang but they narrowly escape in the mystery machine the gang then learn this wasn't the first time there was a ska dancing plague then rude boy and the ska-tastics attack the town leaving only shaggy and scooby un-zombified they hide in the grooves from the graves store and see a poster of the hex girls. the two of them get into a private party to find them. they convince the girls to help. back at the town they dancers are starting to get exhausted when the hex girls perform there song but rude boy and the ska-tastics knock them back so scooby and shaggy step up to help them win thus freeing the town. it is revealed that rude boy and the ska-tastics are themselves just dressed up as zombie versions of themselves scooby finds Krissy Kristy and trini lee (who was kidnapped at the tiki tub) the gang find out the phlanespheric disk has changed which with the hex girls help they get a second pair of co-ordinates leading to the second key meanwhile at the hospital nova dies then comes back to life and says "nibiru is coming" before falling back onto the pillow

  • This is the second appearance of the Hex Girls; previously appeared in In Fear Of The Phantom.
  • Nova was critically injured in the previous episode.
  • HB News is also a news program in the regular continuity as shown in Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon.
  • Shaggy gives Scooby's name as "Scoobert Dooby-Doo" over the hospital intercom; Scooby's parents frequently addressed by his full first name on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
  • The Hex Girls wear the costumes their original counterparts did introduced in their first appearance, Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost; they explain this to be a public demand meaning their costumes in In Fear Of The Phantom are actually their second ones. They also wear two other outfits: the second is skull-like outfits they wear to take on the zombiefied Rude Boy and the Ska-Tastics and the last is more casual outfits.
