The Dinosaur was actually a machine with a built-in silver processing plant.
History
The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show
Dr. LaRue is revealed as the culprit.
It was operated by Dr. LaRue, who pretended he had dug up a real dinosaur that came to life. He was stealing the lost silver treasure of Montezuma.
