Don Messick was one of the most prolific American voice actors of the 20th century. He was also Droopy on Tom & Jerry Kids and Hampton J. Pig on Tiny Toon Adventures.

During a recording session in 1996, he had a stroke and quit soon after.Template:Cite The following year, he died of a second stroke, at 71. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island was dedicated to him as it was the first official Scooby-Doo production without him as the voice of Scooby-Doo and was succeeded by Scott Innes. Previously to that the Johnny Bravo crossover episode, Bravo Dooby-Doo, also had Hadley Kay as Scooby as Messick was too sick by then.

Arabian Nights

Main article(s): Arabian Nights

This is an anthology special, where Scooby isn't in every scene, but does play an intergral part. As a cash-in, Arabian Nights was later retitled, Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights (and then Scooby-Doo! in Arabian Nights). Messick also voiced Boo-Boo Bear, but that is in a Yogi Bear segment of the film, which is not covered on the wiki.
