Ed Machine is the corrupt former CEO of Destroido Corp., and the henchman of Mr. E. He disappeared after a violent (possible fatal) confrontation with Professor Pericles.[1]

Physical appearance

Ed is middle-aged man, with hair missing on the top of his head, but gray hair on the sides. He wears a black suit, a maroon shirt, a maroon vest, and a black and maroon tie. He has a pocket watch in his vest pocket, with the gold chain visible on his left side.

Personality

Ed Machine added land fill waste into Nature Slivers and refuses to change it despite protests from Grandma Moonbeam. Ed appears to be very apathetic about selling Destroido Corp.'s Gummy Dummies. He ignored the creepy phone call because he thought it was pranksters, but it was the Cicada Creature.

History

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated

Season one

Ed released Alice May, another agent of Mr. E, from jail and asked if the plan was a success. She confirmed that it was as he took her took a waiting limousine so that she could be transported out of Crystal Cove. Before she left, he refused to answer her questions about why she had been hired, aside from stating Mr. E's desire that the disappearance of four youths be solved. She got in the limousine and he watched her leave.[2]

He pushed a physics book to Daphne (with a magazine inside) when the gang was looking through vampire books at the Broken Spine. Later, as Mystery Incorporated continued to struggle to get along, a frustrated Ed watched Fred, Daphne, and Velma all walk back home as Shaggy and Scooby-Doo were left alone.[3]

Ed ignored the warning call from the Cicada Creature and was attacked by a cicada swarm. He refused to listen to Grandma Moonbeam's complaints about putting landfill waste into Nature Slivers recipe.[4]

He came to Scooby and the gang to play them the message that Professor Pericles sent to Mr. E. He also revealed himself as one of Mr. E's agents.[5]

Ed Machine appeared at a press conference to announce a new Destroido candy product: Gummy Dummies. Afterwards, the gang tried to get his permission to go to Destroido's abandoned oil rig, claiming they wanted to conduct research. Machine merely insulted them, threatened them with trespassing charges, and walked off.[6]

He acted as a guard at the secret base of Mr. E which can be accessed through one of the waste pipes of Destroido, and he brought Angel Dynamite to Mr. E.[7]

He followed Mr. E's orders to check on the gang, but not to interfere unless absolutely necessary.[8]

Ed helped rescue Shaggy and Scooby from the Freak of Crystal Cove and took them to Angel Dynamite at K-Ghoul for their safety. He went home, finding that Professor Pericles was waiting for him. Pericles told Ed that he wanted him to deliver a message to Ricky Owens and stated that he was aware of his new identity as Mr. E. Ed told Pericles to say what he wanted and get out of his house, but Pericles responded that he didn't want to "say" anything. Pericles moved towards Ed as the lights went out; Ed could be heard screaming soon after.[1]

Season two

The gang traveled to the Red Room, where they discovered that those who had been corrupted by the Evil Entity had their best parts stored there. Ed was among those there, appearing as a life-sized, motionless figure.[9]
