Amber is a reptilian alien from an unknown world, who took the form of a service Golden Retriever when she joined her partner Crystal, who took the form of a human, in studying Earth culture.
Physical appearance[]
Amber, in her dog form, is a Golden Retriever with a red bandanna worn around her neck; the bandanna hides her peace sign medallion that, when activated, transforms her from a dog into an alien.
In her actual form, Amber is a reptilian humanoid, with a beaked mouth, digitigrade legs, and a metallic carapace. She is blue-green from her back to her arms and legs and has a sky-blue belly. Her head is vaguely avian in appearance, with hooked beak-like jaws and piercing yellow eyes, much like those belonging to birds of prey. Her feet have two toes with a dewclaw in the back, and her hands had three fingers.
Personality[]
Initially, Amber felt unimpressed when seeing Scooby Doo at first glance. Although he tries his best to woo her, she did not reciprocate her feelings, even twisting Scooby's arm when he laid his paws on her back. Eventually, Scooby-Doo succeeds on getting her attention by providing her with a bunch of flowers. Thus, Amber returns her affection by licking his cheek in flattery. At this point forward, Amber continues to show affection towards Scooby-Doo to the end.
As an alien, Amber, like Crystal, is also dedicated to her role as a government agent. She tries to protect Crystal from Steve, who attempts to capture the two of them with a bulldozer.
Powers and abilities[]
Amber has the ability to transform back and forth from her alien form to her dog form by using a device on her neck, which resembles a peace-symbol pendant. In her alien form, Amber is semi-quadrupedal, as she can stand with only with her two legs, while being quadrupedal in her dog form. Amber also displays superhuman strength, by being able to bend a thick steel girder to trap Max and the fake MPs. Like her alien companion Crystal, Amber displays high level of intelligence. She can speak English very fluently and has obtained vast knowledge of the human culture from one of Earth's broadcast she picked up back in her home planet.
History[]
Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders[]
Shortly after being abducted by the Aliens from Lester's home, Scooby Doo and Shaggy Rogers are awakened by Amber and Crystal in the middle of the desert. Upon their first meeting, Scooby develops a romantic interest on Amber, while Amber scoffs at him.
After breakfast, Crystal and Amber appears, asking Shaggy and Scooby to show them the jackalope they found the previous night. During their time of taking wildlife photos in the desert, Amber enjoys the affection she gets from Scooby, causing her to kiss him in response. After being detained off the area by the fake MPs, the four attempt to sneak back in, where they eventually make their way to an underground gold mine.
Suddenly, the Aliens appear and chase them down. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang (Fred, Velma, and Daphne) make another way into the mine where they also get chased before being captured from a net on a crane. The Aliens (revealed to be the SALF members: Steve, Laura, and Max) order the MPs to search and bring back Crystal, Amber, Scooby, and Shaggy, who manage to escape from them.
Eventually realizing that the rest of the gang are in trouble, Crystal, Shaggy, Scooby, and Amber go through the mines to quickly find them. A brief struggle from the SALF members and the MPs forces Crystal and Amber to reveal their true identity as actual aliens to everyone, including Shaggy and Scooby. Amber attempts to corner the MPs and Max with a steel girder. But after seeing Steve attempting to capture him and Crystal with a bulldozer, Amber protects her companion, and stopping Steve's bulldozer from capturing them.
Scooby and Shaggy, noticing that Crystal and Amber may end up being captured, suddenly intervenes and foils the SALF members' plan before finally capturing them for custody.
Reverting back to her dog form, Amber reveals her ability to speak, surprising the gang, and adds that she and Crystal are both government agents from another planet who were sent to investigate signals sent from Earth via the SALF stations. Just as their ship arrives, Amber tells Scooby she will never forget him and kisses him on the lips. She then leaves alongside Crystal in their spaceship, leaving both Scooby and Shaggy heartbroken.
