Dishwasher

A dishwasher is a mechanical kitchen appliance used for cleaning dishes, eating utensils, and cookware.

Physical appearance[]

The dishwasher is a large machine with bluish-grey panels containing the dishwashing mechanism and a large black lever to power it on and off. Though most of the parts are internal, some gears and pulleys are exposed on the outside along with a series of water pipes running into the top of the machine. A trap door is on one end of the machine for loading dirty dishes; a metal chute is on the opposite end where clean dishes exit. A white sign with black lettering is affixed to the unit above the on/off lever to identify it.

History[]

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You![]

Season one[]

When running from the Space Kook, Scooby and Shaggy ran into a building on the airfield to hide. Scooby hid himself in the dish washer, but Shaggy accidentally activated it while trying to get a metal bucket that he had errantly stepped in off of his foot. With the dishwasher on, Scooby was sent through several cycles of water sprays and roller brushes, finally going down a conveyor and sliding out a chute at the end. Shaggy offered a pun about making a "clean getaway," though Scooby only sarcastically chuckled at it.

Notes/trivia[]

  • The "Automatic Dish Washer" label is wrong on two accounts. One, a dishwater is automatic to begin with, and two, dishwasher is misspelt as two words.
  • It resembles an industrial restaurant dishwasher.
