El Scaryachi was a giant puppet controlled by the Sheriff of El Muncho. The Sheriff scared away all the citizens of El Muncho to claim its oil for himself.

Physical appearance[]

His look accurately represents a Mexican "Day of the Dead" skeleton. He has bright orange eyes, dark, arched eyebrows, along with colorful facial paint. He wears a sombrero hat. He has a short, black jacket, and wears a patterned scarf along with blue, denim jeans and leather shoes. He also keeps two pistols attached to his belt.

Personality[]

El Scaryachi is a cocky, energetic, and reckless skeleton. During his chase sequence, you can see how desperate he gets as you go along, eventually taking out an El Muncho parade float used earlier by some Zombie Bandido to bust the gate to the clock tower and saloon open.

Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp[]

El Muncho sheriff caught

Sheriff caught.

He appears in the El Muncho opening cutscene, watching the gang enter the town. He is then mentioned to the gang by the Sheriff. When Scooby Doo and Shaggy approach the mausoleum, El Scaryachi appears and chases them through town, before they escape. He is then seen a final time onstage outside the mausoleum, where he fights the gang. Once defeated, he is revealed to be the Sheriff. He then revealed he wanted to scare everyone away to have the oil under the cemeteries to himself.

In Velma's case study, she wonders who El Scaryachi is. Once the case is solved, she says that El Scaryachi was the disguise of the Sheriff in order to scare everyone away.
