Eric Staufer is a college student who is responsible for creating the Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase video game.

Eric is a young adult man, with black hair, wearing a lab coat, and both a yellow collar shirt and a blue-green shirt underneath his lab coat, and wears big rounded framed glasses.

Eric takes such pride in designing his video game in which he designs as he majors in video game designing.
History[]
Early life[]
Eric is an old high school friend of Fred Jones and Velma Dinkley, with Fred remembering that "he practically lived in the computer lab back in high school," and that Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo thought it was cool that he was majoring in video game designing. Eric was apparently very interested in the mysteries they solved, as Daphne Blake remarked in the game, "Maybe we shouldn't have told Eric so much about our mysteries," referring to the many past monsters Eric had designed in the game. He invented the Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase video game and won the cash prize.
Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase[]
Eric was injured by the Phantom Virus, with the telephone he'd taken apart. In the end, after the gang got back to the real world and explained all the clues of who'd created the Phantom Virus, Eric realized that the Virus really liked baseball, making him realize that Bill, his best friend, was the one who created the Virus. Bill was trying to sabotage Eric's game because Professor Kaufman had chosen Eric's game over his own even though Bill had been a student at the college two years longer than Eric had, and Bill felt he deserved to compete in the competition more than Eric did.
