The Ghost of Christmas Never was the disguise of Nanette Musette, the housemaid of Winslow Nickleby.
Physical appearance[]
The ghost wears a large white cloak with a hood and white gloves and emits a faint greenish glow. His face is almost completely obscured in the shadow; only the glowing red eyes are visible. When he first appeared, he carried a scythe.

The ghost could seemingly teleport in a puff of smoke.

The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries[]
The ghost first appeared in a rehearsal, while Shaggy Rogers acted out the part of Ebenezer Scrooge. At first the gang suspected Mr. Nickleby himself. On a visit to his house, both they and Nanette overheard the reading of a will. This led them all to believe the emerald was in a star in the attic. A chase ensued, during which Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and Scrappy-Doo captured the ghost in a sack. However, it got away and the star was empty.
Nanette Musette unmasked.
Finally, at the pageant, everyone realized the emerald was in the nutcracker. The ghost jumped on stage and snatched it off the Christmas tree. After stealing the nutcracker, she led the gang on a chase with her in a sleigh and the others on skis. The chase ended when the sleigh crashed and the ghost was unmasked to reveal Nanette, who was then arrested.
