This article is about the live-action monster. For the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated incarnation, see Luna Ghost (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated).

The Luna Ghost was the disguise of Old Man Smithers.

Physical appearance[]

He looked like a luminous white jester with black hollow eyes and a creepy black smile.

Personality[]

Old Man Smithers has a taste for theatricality, choosing to commit his crimes in a glowing white suit and intimidate his victims with pyrotechnic tricks. He shows a sadistic side while disguised, as shown by him scorching Scooby's tail and scaring both Shaggy and Scooby.

He is also shown to have a very perverted and kinky fixation on younger women, as shown by him trying to get revenge on Pamela Anderson for turning him down after he asked her out and kidnapping Daphne Blake, gleefully groping her butt and gagging her. He is very single-minded, not considering or caring that haunting his place of employment could potentially be harmful to him.

Powers and abilities[]

He could fly and become weightless in the air thanks to the balloon suit that Old Man Smithers wore and could blow fire with a metal arm that could produce fire. He also had the ability to glow, which was never explained.

History[]

Early life[]

He haunted the Wow-O Toy Factory and kidnapped Daphne Blake. It seemed to be based on the action figures manufactured at the factory.

Scooby-Doo: The Movie[]

Old Man Smithers

Old Man Smithers unmasked.

He was stopped when he got knocked into a toy pile by Shaggy and Scooby. He was revealed to be Old Man Smithers, a janitor at the factory who was getting revenge by scaring off the workers just because Pamela Anderson, a celebrity getting her own doll made at the factory and most likely owned the place, refused to go on a date with him.
