Penny Marshall was an American actress, writer, and producer. She got her acting break as Laverne DeFazio in the sitcom Laverne & Shirley (co-created by her brother, Garry Marshall). She also went into directing, with episodes of Laverne & Shirley and According to Jim, and films such as Big and A League of Their Own.
She died of complications due to diabetes in 2018, at the age of 75.
