Pirate Ship of Fools is the fourth and final part in the Horror of the High Seas online serial game.

Premise[]

Shaggy and Scooby-Doo board the ghostly pirate ship, where they must look for clues, and ultimately figure out how to trap and defeat the ghost pirate.

Synopsis[]

Once Shaggy and Scooby boarded the ghostly ship, they are still upset that they have to come here. Scooby then says "rats" while noticing actual rats, which Shaggy encourages it. Also, the door to the basement was locked, so they need to obtain a key. Unfortunately, the key is hung on the pole of the crow's nest. There are two ways to obtain the key.

  1. The first method is to pick up the axe, have Scooby get on the net of crates, make Shaggy pick up a rope and tie it to the end of a cannon, push the cannon into the sea, and Scooby will automatically grab the key. Use the axe on the rope to get Scooby down.
  2. The second method is to slide down to the raft, pick up the oar, and go back up again. Next is get the axe and use it to chop off a piece of rope that is tied to a railing near the helm, swing across, use the oar to drop the key from the pole, get down safely, and pick the key up.

After obtaining it, Shaggy then unlocks the door. He also discovers that the ghostly green glow was in fact emitted by LED lights that emit green neon light. He insults the ship by saying that its a big fake, but the Ghost Pirate heard it, believing that he was insulted, and laughs evilly. This scares the duo, but they decide that must sneak to the stairs up ahead.

After sneaking their way past the ghost pirate using a barrel, the two head downstairs and discover modernized maps instead of old pirate treasure maps. This leads Shaggy to deduct that someone on the ship knows a lot about the ocean. Inside an empty closet are two dive tanks and a scuba mask, leading them to wonder why would a ghost pirate need these for. Shaggy and Scooby declared that it is time for them to catch the ghost pirate, while also suppressing his henchmen. They obtain the rope used to tie the raft to the boat and tie it to a trapdoor. Once one of the henchmen steps onto the trapdoor, they then pull the rope, dropping him down the trapdoor. Next, they find a torch and a barrel of gunpowder which they use to create a trail ending at a pile of gunpowder barrels under a platform. When the other henchman steps onto the platform, they then light it with the torch, causing an explosion the launches the henchman onto the raft. There are two ways to catch the ghost pirate:

  1. Spin the cannon around (if it was not used earlier and the rope isn't tied to it). Get the net and put it inside the cannon. Get the flag and use it to hide when the ghost pirate comes out. While his back is turned, use the torch the light the cannon and it will fire the net at the ghost pirate.
  2. Get the net and climb up to the mast. Wait for the ghost pirate to be below you and then drop the net.

Once the ghost pirate is captured, they deduct that it could be either, Tommy, Caroline Moore, or Captain Lawrence, until they found out it was none other than Caroline in disguise, having suspected that it was her after finding the dive tanks. The reason why she dressed herself up as the ghost pirate is because so that she can locate Whitebeard's treasure using the cruise ship's hi-tech maps, having scared everyone with it so she can take over the ship. She also reveals to have trapped the passengers in the cargo hull, which explains the strange sounds. Shaggy then takes a picture, and as a result, Shaggy and Scooby are rewarded as much food as they want back on the ship. After noticing the Scooby is gone, he then scares Shaggy away using Caroline's diving suit, while also saying his trademark catchphrase, "Scooby-dooby-doo!".

  • Although unseen, it is possible that these events occur after the ghost pirate is caught:
    • Shaggy and Scooby free the passengers, which presumably includes the Captain.
    • Caroline is arrested.
    • The crew recovered the missing mini-sub.
