The Red Wizard is the disguise of Chen, who uses it to defend the Dragon's Heart ruby he has sworn to protect.
Physical appearance[]
The red wizard wears a red and white robe, a red hat, and sports long, blonde hair. He has a white complexion with black markings on his face. He also has long nails.
Personality[]
Initially, the red wizard was perceived to be greedy, as he broke into a mansion and tried to forcefully obtain a sacred ring that unlocked a priceless ruby. However, it was revealed that his true intention was to protect the Dragon's Heart ruby from another, more corrupt white wizard.
Powers and abilities[]
- Levitation: The red wizard has the ability to fly into the air and float. In reality, he does this by using a jetpack.
- Electrokinesis: The red wizard's signature move is creating red electric bolts from his hands. In reality, this is created using homemade Tesla coils, handheld devices that can be used to produce high-voltage electricity. He also uses electricity to appear and disappear from conflicts, though this ability is not adequately explained.

Early life[]
Chen, a child living in China, was entrusted with the Dragon's Heart ruby, a priceless ruby locked in a jade dragon that could only be unlocked using four rings.
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season one[]
Having grown into an adult and immigrated into Crystal Cove, Chen discovered that a teenager named Mai Le had obtained one of the sacred rings by stealing it from a jewelry store. Disguised as the red wizard, Chen attacked the Blake residence in order to obtain the ring. However, he was deterred by a trap created by Fred Jones, Jr.
He later had a confrontation with the white wizard, engaging in a fierce duel. Despite having lost the battle, he managed to prevent the white wizard from stealing Mai Le's ring.
After discovering that the white wizard attacked Mai Le's home and stole the ring, Chen revealed to Mystery Inc. that he was the person behind the red wizard. After explaining the ring, Chen collaborated with Mystery Inc. to capture the white wizard and reveal his identity as Chinese delegate Mr. Wang.
