Reception[]
Terrence Griep Jr. in the second story flies in the face of good sense and dares to turn predictability into an asset. We know who is behind the manifestations of the Jersey Devil: a genuine urban legend, the information given in the comic book accurate. We know how she accomplishes the feat. The real story is the gang's hushed words that reveal their sympathy for the antagonist/protagonist. The mystery is so obvious that it accents the blindness of the father and makes the happy ending more rewarding.
Joe Staton once more captures the feel of the Scooby mysteries. He details a total stuff-up, courtesy of key players Shag and Scoob that unwittingly grounds the culprit. You can almost hear the crazy flutes highlighting the Keystone chase music in the background.[1]
