The Ye Olde Renaissance Faire is located in Glasburgh, Scotland.

History[]

What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]

Season two[]

Located in a town called Glasburgh, it's an American-style renaissance faire that Scooby and the gang head to while in spending some time in Scotland. According to Velma Dinkley, it's the only renaissance faire in the world that's held at an actual medieval castle, which is owned by a Scotsman named Ewan McEwan (who also runs the renaissance faire).

Trivia[]

  • While renaissance faires are mostly just an American phenomenon, they have been held in other parts of the world in recent decades, including in Europe.
  • Mr. McEwan makes it a requirement for everyone, including visitors, to wear a costume at his faire (ultimately forcing Velma into a medieval-princess costume for almost the entire episode).
    • In real life, it's usually only the employees working the faire who are required to dress up in costumes -- while visitors can dress up if they want to, they're usually not required to do so.
