For the villain from the game Scooby-Doo! First Frights, see Fishman (Scooby-Doo! First Frights).

The Fishman was a secondary disguise used by Ranger Knudsen for underwater work (his primary disguise was the Woodsman).

Physical appearance[]

The Fishman resembled a humanoid fish with a gray-skinned, crocodile-like body, the face of a barracuda, a sea serpent's tail, a fin on its back, sharp teeth and four webbed feet.

Personality[]

As the Fishman, Knudsen showed a very aggressive and feral side of himself. He was extremely hostile and cruel towards his targets and was persistent in getting the job done. He even attempted to drown his prey and wasn’t afraid of tipping a boat full of people off a cliff, potentially killing them. The man also made loud growling noises whenever he was acting as the Fishman in order to scare his victims.

Powers and abilities[]

The Fishman was able to breathe underwater due to Knudsen wearing scuba diving gear. He was also able to swim and maneuver extremely quickly underwater likely due to the sleek material the costume was made out of as well as its fins, flippers, and long tail (it was strong enough to fling Scooby away) which provided momentum. It also allowed him to leap out of the water and the large fin on his back was able to cut though an entire canoe. The creature’s jaws were capable of gripping tightly onto objects which may have been due to an unspecified mechanism within the mask. Finally, Knudsen could maneuver extremely quickly on all fours while wearing the costume on land.

History[]

Early life[]

Legend told of a camper named Neil Fisher who was picked on by the other campers and spent so much of his time swimming in Big Moose Lake that he started to grow gills and fins and became the Fishman.

Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare[]

Knudsen unmasked

Ranger Knudsen unmasked.

He attacked Mystery Inc. on numerous occasions.

He was caught when he attacked Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Jessica, Burt, Luke and Trudy (Fred Jones and Shaggy Rogers had just been attacked when the Fishman threw the latter at the former, and Deacon already revealed himself as Babyface Boretti, respectively) and Scooby-Doo drove the Mystery Machine to chase the Fishman and as it hid in one of Moose Creek's old buildings, Scooby drove into the building, catching the Fishman under a pile of bricks; he was unmasked as the Woodsman who was then unmasked as Ranger Knudsen.
