Gps

The G.P.S. (Global Positioning System), is an in-built flip-up navigation system housed in the Mystery Machine's dashboard.

Personality[]

It has a sarcastic attitude and tells jokes (calling Fred Jones "Scarf Boy") as it navigates.[1] It has issues with Scooby-Doo's fur.[2]

History[]

Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo[]

After the credit roll, the GPS is surprised to see some people are still watching and tells them that the movie is over and they should do something else. The GPS started laughing before saying that it needs oil.

Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur[]

Fred used the G.P.S. to get to La Serena because it was a long drive and needed directions. Although it took them to five chilli spots, an all-night bowling alley, a meteor crater and a tattoo parlor. The G.P.S. welcomed the gang to La Serena, complaining that he would never get the smell of Scooby-Doo's fur out of its upholstery and was promptly shut off.

When the gang all get accidentally hypnotised into thinking they were Shaggy, the Mystery Machine was later left in the middle desert road, covered in a big mop of Shaggy-like hair, where it complained about not having hands to get it off.[2]

Appearances[]

Notes/trivia[]

  • It was voiced by Dave Attell in Abracadabra-Doo, and John DiMaggio in Legend of the Phantosaur.
  • In Abracadabra-Doo, Velma referred to it as new, so it seems to have replaced the original NATLAS system used a couple of times in the What's New, Scooby-Doo? era, but unlike NATLAS, the G.P.S. acts as if it really is the Mystery Machine come to life (due to it being a part of the van itself), especially in the end credits scene of both films.
