The gang went to visit Daphne Blake's friend, Lisa Vanaugh, for her birthday, which was at a very old hotel on Great Skull Island, that Lisa would inherit on the day after her eighteenth birthday. Velma Dinkley said that it was believed that there were vampires on the island, but she herself thought it was nonsense. But when a real vampire, apparently turning Lisa into a vampire, herself, the vampire legend became very believable.
