Hebediah Grim's main weapon of choice was a large mallet, which he would use to smash objects and try to hurt girls and boys with. A crack of thunder would always accompany each strike of the mallet, and the sky would turn red whenever Hebediah was attacking.

Gary and Ethan disguised as Hebediah Grim targeted and attacked girls they found attractive while claiming they were indecent and impure (Though Velma found it annoying when the judge bluntly told her she was safe since she was 'decent' and 'an example of purity', when in fact it was just because neither Gary or Ethan found her attractive); this was because they wanted to impress girls by having one of them save them when the monster was attacking.
