Early life
Hobert is revealed as the culprit.
He played Crypts and Creatures when he was a child, but the game was never the same after his elf mage lost to Bronson Stone's Dreamweaver. Soon after all his friends grew out the game leaving Horbert very bitter and wanting revenge.

He created the Dream Machine, which made his co-players dream of being inside the labyrinth. He pretended that he was overwhelmed by the machine himself.
