Mako was a Japanese-born American screen and voice actor. He had supporting roles in The Sand Pebbles as Po-Han, and as Akiro the Wizard in Conan the Barbarian, as well as a cameo in Memoirs of a Geisha. He was the voice of Aku in Samurai Jack (starring Phil LaMarr as the titular character), Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender (also featuring Grey DeLisle), and Splinter in TMNT (also starring the voices of Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North, and Mikey Kelley).
