Mako was a Japanese-born American screen and voice actor. He had supporting roles in The Sand Pebbles as Po-Han, and as Akiro the Wizard in Conan the Barbarian, as well as a cameo in Memoirs of a Geisha. He was the voice of the supervillain Aku in Samurai Jack (starring Phil LaMarr), Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender (also, featuring Grey DeLisle), and Splinter in the film TMNT (also starring the voices of Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North and Mikey Kelley).
