Marie Laplaque was a famous pirate in the history of Lighthouse Harbor.
She had long reddish brown hair tied back with a red bandanna.
She was a ruthless pirate captain, but she probably had a streak of patriotism. She wanted her crew to stay in Lighthouse Harbor to fight the British.
Her men mutinied when she wanted to stay, and they forced her to walk the plank. Supposedly she drowned and cursed the town with her dying breath. In fact, she managed to swim to shore. She was pregnant at the time, and she gave birth to a son and lived with him in the woods near the town. When her son grew up he returned to town under a new name and became the great-great-great-grandfather of Fred Jones' Uncle William, and the ancestor of many others in the town.
