Monkey See, Scooby Doo! is a story in Scooby-Doo... Mystery Comics #24
A talking gorilla spirit steals a valuable archeological find.
The gang are having a picnic barbecue. While Fred and Shaggy are gathering wood, Scooby finds a cave and falls in a hole, where an archaeologist named Brad is searching for the Anthro-stone. Scooby, digging to see what he hit his head on, digs up the very artifact Brad was seeking.
Brad, with the gang in tow, takes the tablet to Leo Mandrell, who he hopes will translate the stone. Mr. Shuster, a competitor, arrives and offers Brad three thousand dollars for the stone, who refuses.
The next morning, the gang arrives at Mandrell's office, only to find it locked. Fred breaks down the door; Mandrell has apparently been turned into a chimpanzee and the Gorilla Spirit threatens Shaggy -- by name -- and grabs the Anthro-stone. He vanishes in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke clears, Mandrell is back, but the giant talking ape is gone.
Brad, Mandrell, and the gang go to question Shuster, who indignantly asks Mandrell who these young accusers are. Fred realizes Shuster never knew their names, but the Gorilla Spirit referred to Shaggy by name. Suspicion falls to Mandrell, who attempts to escape out a tenth-story window, but inadvertently climbs in the window of a detective agency.
