Mr. Leech was the smuggling partner of the Wolf's End Lodge owner, Mr. Greenway.

He pretended to be a guest at the lodge, asking for his suitcase to be looked after. In reality, this was where he was keeping the jewelry. When Mr. Greenway was caught as being the Snow Ghost, used to scare off snoopers, he and Mr. Leech were tied up, back-to-back, ready to be taken away by the Sheriff.
