Mummy Scares Best is the sixteenth episode of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, and the second episode of the second season.

Premise

While in Egypt on an archeological dig with Melbourne O'Reilly, the gang encounters Pharaoh Scamses the 15th - a mummy who has a knack of turning tourists into zombie minions. Even worse for the gang is the fact that they are in danger of being turned into zombies themselves.

Synopsis

A group of tourists are traveling through the desert at night in Egypt. Suddenly a mummy comes out of nowhere to scare them. They run into a pyramid to get away, but the mummy chases them into a room where the walls start closing in. They try to push the walls back, but cannot hold them. They end up getting sucked into the walls by a magical light beam.

Some time after this, a bus carrying Scooby and the gang arrives for a tour of the great pyramids.

Notes/trivia

  • This is the first time Velma is hypnotized.

Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches

Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities

  • Melbourne O'Reilly was with the gang when the mummy watched them from atop the pyramid. Melbourne was also with them when the mummy first appeared and made the sand storm. It couldn't have been Melbourne dressed up as the mummy. But there is a possibility that it was Prince Qasl Al-Famir who dressed as the mummy before.
