Owen Garrison is an actor famous for portraying the role of Blue Falcon in the campy The Adventures of Blue Falcon. He was reduced to selling autographs in a booth shared with robot vendor Jack Rabble.

Physical appearance

He is an elderly Caucasian male, with white hair.

Personality

He was bitter about the new, darker Blue Falcon movie. He later dropped his bitter side after he was given a cameo role in the sequel.

History

Early life

After his show was cancelled, he used to appear at conventions in costume and sign autographs. Jennifer Severin got a restraining order preventing him from wearing the costume, since it would detract from the new darker image of the Falcon she wanted to present; this severely cut into his autograph business.

His rants against the new movie made him a suspect to be Mr. Hyde. He was caught in a Hyde costume, apparently operating a giant Mr. Hyde robot, but this was a frame-up by the real culprit, Jack Rabble.

After Hyde was caught and defeated by Owen and Scooby dressed in original Blue Falcon and Dyno-mutt costumes, Jennifer was inspired to make a sequel in which Garrison got a cameo role as the original Blue Falcon, the father of the new one, much to the former actor's delight.

Appearances

Notes/trivia

  • He is a parody of Adam West who played a campy version of Batman on television, with his treatment as an actor being similar when later movie directors wanted to distance themselves from that image. However, the 1966 show was not downplayed and forgotten.
  • Owen Garrison's name is a play on Gary Owens, who was the voice of the Blue Falcon on the real-world Dynomutt, Dog Wonder TV series.
