The phantom appeared as a common villain, called simply "Ghost" and featured in all areas (Mystic Manor, the Haunted Grounds and Smuggler's Cove). It was one of the few villains capable of flying/floating around. The ghost was unusual in that it's the only villain that couldn't be killed.[1]

Notes/trivia

  • The Phantom is just referred to as "Ghost" in his model sheet.[2]
  • A profile on the Phantom is feature in DC Comics' Scooby-Doo! #74 in the story, Who's Who In Scooby-Doo. It is referred to as the Telescope Ghost, on account of what it was using at the beginning of the episode.
  • It's not explicitly stated, but the Phantom was likely intended to be the ghost of Vasquez.
  • In Scooby-Doo's Haunted Mansion Ride, the Phantom appears as a real ghost scaring riders in the bedroom.
