Porto was the donkey mascot of the Fraternitas Mysterium, a group of mystery solving friars.

Physical appearance

Porto was a shaggy, brown furred donkey with a darker mane and circles of fur around his eyes. The top of Porto's head was shaved and styled into the traditional haircut of a friar of the catholic church. He wore a bell around his neck.

Personality

Before he became manipulated, he was assumed to be loyal and helpful to others, but upon turning evil, he wanted all the pieces of the disk for himself and was willing to destroy Crystal Cove for that.

History

Early life

He was the mascot of the Fraternitas Mysterium in the early to mid 1500s. When they found two pieces of the Planispheric Disk, he became manipulated by the evil within the pieces and set out to destroy Crystal Cove. He set up explosives on half of the town and grabbed one of the disk pieces, but Friar Serra pursued him to the swamps outside the town, where Porto was eaten by the alligators. However, Friar Serra was able to take back the piece he took, while the other piece was lost with half of the town when it sank into the ocean.[1]

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated

Season two

The real ghost of Friar Serra explained to the gang that Porto attempted to destroy Crystal Cove not save it.[1]

Appearances

Notes/trivia

  • Porto was portrayed by Scooby-Doo in a live performance. As portrayed, he was a talking animal, but it is unknown whether that was the case for the real Porto.
  • The word "porto" in Latin means "I carry."
  • In Come Undone, it is incorrectly stated his name was Gordo. In Spanish, "gordo" means "fat".
