Professor Wayne appeared to be good-natured, thanking the gang for rushing the frozen caveman to them before he melted at some point. He was being suspected by Professor Ingstrom when pretending to write notes and acting sneaky about something.
History
Early life
He froze the dummy caveman in a block of ice on the old fishing boat, and then set it adrift knowing it float to Oceanland on the prevailing current it was on.

Season two
Professor Wayne unmasked.
After storing it in the artic room, he melted the ice with an electric heater and took over his scheme and dressed up as the caveman, making it appear that the caveman had come to life causing himself and Ingstrom to disappear. With Ingstrom out of the way, he would return claiming to have escaped from the caveman. It was revealed that he was after Ingstrom's invention.
