The Pterodactyl Ghost was the disguise of Jonathan Jacobo.
Physical appearance
The Pterodactyl Ghost has a pteranodon head, a beak with sharp teeth, a long tail, huge wings, sharp talons on his feet, long hands, creepy eyes, and green mists that are around him.
Powers and abilities
Early life
A flashback scene to the gang's original case, Jonathan was a man in mechanical wings and a mask, and he robbed banks to pay for his crazy experiments on creating real monsters. Then it was supposed that Jonathan died falling off of the prison roof trying to escape.
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
He had actually survived and made another Pterodactyl Ghost costume and made a monster out of it. The Pterodactyl Ghost tried to catch Scooby-Doo in the monster battle, but the Pterodactyl Ghost didn't know where he was going while he watched Scooby catch the control panel and the Pterodactyl Ghost splats in the Tar Monster's belly and he drowns in the tar and is extinct. The Pterodactyl Ghost was lying dead in the tar when the Skeleton Men and the Tar Monster start to die.

Novel
In the children's book of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, the Pterodactyl Ghost was seen in a cartoon version like all of the characters and monsters. He was first seen in page 2 where he was seen pretending to be a costume. Later in page 3, the Pterodactyl Ghost attacks Daphne and steals the 1,000 Volt Ghost and Black Knight Ghost costume and leaves with his creator.
The Pterodactyl Ghost later tries to attack Shaggy, Fred, and the girls by snapping them with his bony beak, but he crashes into the billboard (just like in the movie). The Pterodactyl Ghost appears again and captures Patrick. During the final battle, the Pterodactyl Ghost crashes into the Tar Monster and drowns and Scooby turns on the control panel and all the monsters turn back into costumes.
