Mary Anne Gleardan unmasked.

Mary Anne Gleardan learned of the legend of Que Horrifico (in English, "How Horrific") from an advanced class in Mayan mythology she took from Dr. Luis de Potrillo. The legend told of a man who turns into a monster at night, and by playing the pan flute he can turn children into monsters.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated

Season one

She used this legend to try to take over the town. Bribing children with promises of candy once she took over, she got them to put on monster masks and act wild when they heard her playing the pan flute. This got the town believing in the curse of the monster, and many parents left town, leaving their "spookified" children behind.

Mystery Inc. investigated and set up a fake household as a trap. Que Horrifico attacked, but the children she commanded abandoned the fight when a cartoon they liked came on television.

Mary Ann was caught; and she would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those Hometto Boys Cabuela (which loosely translated meant 'meddlesome kids' in Latin).

Sheriff Stone arrested and handcuffed Mary Anne. She told Sheriff she was just a kid, but he said she deserved it because of all the Que Horrifico merchandise that was going to go to waste.[1]
