Ricky Owens is one of the missing original Mystery Incorporated members who disappeared in the Crystal Cove Caves.
His appearance marks him as the original Mystery Incorporated counterpart of Shaggy Rogers as he was originally friends with Professor Pericles, Scooby-Doo's counterpart.
He also appeared to share a relationship with Cassidy Williams similar to the relationship shared between Shaggy and Velma Dinkley; was attracted to Ricky, and the latter couple were actually in a romantic relationship. Ricky, Cassidy, and Pericles also paired off like Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby, respectively, when looking for clues

Early life

Ricky tried to help Professor Pericles by standing on an organ in the old condemned church, then tried to climb the organ pipes, which came crashing down. This led to the accidental discovery of the picture of the Planispheric Disk.
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated
The new Mystery Inc. found a picture of Ricky and his friends in the Crystal Cove High School yearbook.
Professor Pericles wanted to deliver a message to Ricky via Ed Machine, implying that he was Mr. E. Ed did not deny it, but only told him to get out his house.
