Cultural references

  • Shaggy sets out on the mission dressed in a similar style to Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars.
  • It is possible that the Tri-State Fair is a Phineas and Ferb homage, since that show was previewed on the Disney Channel about a year before this episode came out. The mad scientist on that show is always trying to take over the "Tri-State Area," and trying to avenge childhood insults.
  • Characters who are parodies of George Bush and Dick Cheney make a cameo appearance at a barbeque contest.
