Early life[]
The cats played and lazed around as their masters, which included Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree, celebrated a bountiful harvest, right before tragedy struck the islanders, when Morgan Moonscar and his crew came ashore to bury their treasure. The pirates destroyed tables, as the islanders ran into the river where they caught the attention of the nearby alligators. Only Simone and Lena escaped unnoticed, and could only watch as their people met a gruesume end. It was not revealed what happened to the cats during this time.

- The reveal at the end of the film, of Simone's cats' eyes glowing could suggest something more to them, such as a long lifespan (even immortality), since they were more than just house pets, they were creatures that Simone and Lena worshipped in the 1700s, meaning the cats in the flashback and Simone's could be one in the same, although, of course, this isn't directly confirmed.
