Shaggy and Scooby strike it rich while prospecting for gold when they run into a retired businessman and an old miner out looking for the long, lost gold mine of the Dutchman, by name of Jacob Waltz. The gang encounters the ghost of the Dutchman and rigs a trap to capture the ghost and reveal him as the businessman. It seems that the businessman wanted to keep everyone from the other side of the mountain because he believed he found the lost mine, but all he really found was a tourist attraction.
The second story in the book is merely mediocre. Only two suspects present themselves for scrutiny as the potential ghoulie. One's too obvious. So it must be the other one. I might have dismissed this less than enthusiastic mystery if not for the frickin' elephant feet [in the previous story]!
