Scooby-Doo Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour

The Scooby & Scrappy Doo/Puppy Hour is the seventh incarnation of the Scooby-Doo series. It premiered in 1982 on ABC. Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in association with Ruby-Spears Enterprises (like Hanna-Barbera, also a then-division of Taft Broadcasting). The fourth part of each show was about a puppy named Petey and his friend Dolly, which was later repackaged as The Puppy's Further Adventures. Since these characters and their adventures had nothing to do with Scooby-Doo, they will not be expanded here. Even though the Scooby and Scrappy-related shorts were written, storyboarded and voiced at Hanna-Barbera, they were animated and edited by Ruby-Spears.

Overview[]

Two segments of Scooby-Doo, Scrappy-Doo, and Shaggy Rogers had them either getting into trouble working for Shaggy's Uncle Fearless at the Fearless Detective Agency, while he was away, or just regular misadventures as with the segments aired among The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show. Another set of segments had Scrappy join Scooby's brother, Yabba-Doo, and his master, Deputy Dusty, fighting crime in a town that was still stuck in the Old West.
