Reception

John Rozum returns to Scooby-Doo with "The Telescope Terror." He finds a motive distinctive from the usual real estate fraud scheme, and he keeps the gang--sporting their hipper new look--in pitch-perfect character. The personalities of Mystery Inc. feel comfortable, and Scooby and Shaggy amuse.

What did not amuse were the painful names that were forced out of the Zodiac and Constellations. Ursula Major, Leo Minor, etc. are likely to cause the reader great pain.

Joe Staton works with a different inker during this case, and the results are decidedly different from his usual look under the attention of Dave Hunt. While Staton's body language for Mystery Inc. is as fluid and characteristic as usual, Mr. DeStefano gives them a bit of rough edges and angularity that more often than not works within the creepy atmosphere of the story.
