First appearance LAL: South America and Transylvania

Transylvania is a region of Romania. The gang has been there on more than one occasion, always encountering vampires and other monsters (some real, some fake).

History

Laff-A-Lympics

A scavenger hunt for monster-related items and a log-rolling race down a haunted river were part of the Laff-A-Lympics.[1]

Scrappy & Yabba-Doo (shorts)

Deputy Dusty accidentally dug up Count Zarko's coffin when he was trying to build a fence near the Tumbleweed County sheriff's office. Zarko quickly mesmerized the whole town so they just stood and stared blankly (he called it "turning them into zombies"). Deputy Dusty, Yabba-Doo, and Scrappy-Doo managed to capture him and mail him back to Transylvania.[2]

The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show

The Scooby-Doo Detective Agency babysat a young monster there.[3]

Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf

Shaggy Rogers, Scooby-Doo, Scrappy-Doo, and Googie were taken there for a car race after Shaggy was transformed into a werewolf.[4]

What's New, Scooby-Doo?

Season two

Mystery Inc. helped the Hex Girls with a music video at Fortescu Castle there, when they were menaced by a vampire.[5]

Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy

Scooby and Shaggy were frightened when Cuthbert Crawley told Velma Dinkley she had inherited her great-great uncle's castle in Transylvania, but he meant the like community living in a village of Pennsylvania.[6]

Appearances

Apocryphal

Scooby-Doo (DC Comics)

Main article: Scooby-Doo (DC Comics)

The gang stayed one night at what seemed to be a real vampire's house.[7]

Notes/trivia

  • Whatever the realities of contemporary Romania, Transylvania in Scooby-Doo's world is a place of monsters.
