Daph performs Trap of Love

"Trap of Love" is a song performed by Daphne Blake (using the stage-name "Crush"), backed by the Hex Girls. The song was written by Daphne and Thorn.

Lyrics[]

Your unfeeling heart imprisons me
Careless eyes, too blind to see
Empty words, an iron cage
Broken heart, bleeding rage

Can't wait for you and me
It's time I break free

Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Burned by your fire
Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Beware the trap of love

Let me be, it's time we part
Set me free, uncage my heart
Can't wait for you and me
It's time for you to see

Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Burned by your fire
Trap of love
Snared by desire
Trap of love
Beware the trap of love...

Trap Of Love

Daphne fronting The Hex Girls

Daphne performed onstage at the Terror Dome Stadium, where the Hex Girls' concert was continued. The whole event was, in part, a trap to catch the Phantom. Daphne wrote the song, with Thorn, to deal with her emotions about Fred Jones, who didn't reciprocate her feelings. The song did make him understand, though, leading the way for a potential romance.[1]

Notes/trivia[]

  • The song makes Fred realize for the first time that he likes Daphne as more than just a friend.
  • The song itself, as well as its title, is a play on words - Daphne sings about her frustration that Fred seems to care more about traps than her, despite her romantic feelings for him, hence the title 'Trap of Love'. It should also be noted that as well as using words like 'cage imprisons', and 'trap' in the song - love itself is a trap.
