Uncle Nathaniel, or Nat for short, is the great-uncle of Shaggy Rogers.
Uncle Nat is an elderly Caucasian male. He is essentially an older version of Shaggy; as quoted by Velma Dinkley: "[He's] the spitting image of Shaggy."
Uncle Nat is a coward like Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. He can be scared easily and loves to eat, like Shaggy does. He doesn't like ghosts.

The gang, joined by the Harlem Globetrotters, visited Uncle Nat's Boston home. They saw Revolutionary War ghosts on the way, and someone had put a fake "Bridge Out" sign on Uncle Nat's covered bridge. (The Lochness Mess)
