In the new series Mystery Incorporated, when Velma questions Shaggy about missing a date, Shaggy explains that he and Scooby fell asleep watching a Vincent Van Ghoul movie. Velma also wanted to watch the movie marathon with Shaggy on their 1 month aniversary after Prom. Shaggy agreed becuase Velma scared him dispite him agreeing to watch it with Scooby Doo. Van Ghoul's appearance seems unchanged from his previous version.
