He has a girlfriend, Crystal, who is also his magic assistant, and a brother, Marlon Merlin, who is the brains behind the action; it is revealed that Marlon is a whiz with digital imagery. The school is supposedly Whirlen and Marlon's dream.

Personality
Whirlen is always excited when it comes to performing his magic on stage. But when the griffin attacked the school, he was a bit upset that it was trying to ruin his dream and his home.
