The Zombie Gladiator was the disguise of Ugo DiRinaldi.
Physical appearance[]
The gladiator is a ghost resembling a tall, imposing, and muscular male with pale grey skin. His helmet, which is featureless except for a nose guard, obscures his entire face, except for his glowing red eyes. It wore a suit of gladiator's armour, consisting of a steel chestplate emblazoned with a gold seal. It also wore pauldrons, a red cape, wrist guards, a codpiece, a red tunic underneath, and shin guards.
Personality[]
The gladiator is a hostile monster which attacked its victims by chasing, using his chariot as intimidation rather than his voice. While named a zombie, the gladiator does not behave as an archetypal zombie, but rather behaves human-like in his attacks, running, using weapons, and riding a chariot. While in the coliseum, the gladiator is well-versed with the traditions of gladiator games, kneeling before his emperor and waiting for his orders to attack Mystery Inc.
Skills and abilities[]
- Vehicle: The zombie gladiator rides on a chariot drawn by two black horses. The gladiator is skilled as a chariot rider, allowing it to ride on roads as fast as engine-powered vehicles.
- Weapons: In the coliseum, the gladiator is a retiarius, wielding a trident and fishing net as his primary weapons.

Season one[]
Ugo DiRinaldi, vice president of the Scungimondo Corporation, created the Zombie Gladiator disguise to scare intruders away from his operations as he dumped ancient artifacts from across Italy into Mount Vesuvius to be destroyed. The Zombie Gladiator was first seen terrorizing tourists in the historic city of Pompeii. Later, when Mystery Inc. visited the Pompeii Colosseum, the gladiator attacked them on the orders of Emperor Caesar Saladicus (his accomplice, Captain Guzman, in disguise). The gladiator chased Mystery Inc. to the island of Capri, where they escaped his pursuit.

Mystery Inc. encountered the gladiator a second time in Pompeii after preparing a trap to capture it. However, the gladiator evaded the trap, chasing them off a cliff and into the sea. However, he was captured after being caught at his base of operations, the mouth of Mount Vesuvius. Fred tackled the gladiator and subdued it, rendering it unconscious. After preventing the volcano from erupting as a result of DiRinaldi's activities, DiRinaldi was unmasked and handed over to authorities along with his accomplice.
